My name is Janera Echevarria; I was born in New Jersey, USA, and raised in Puerto Rico. My mother raised me as a single mom until I turned 13. I studied at Santa Monica Academy from 4th through 12th grade, took advanced classes, and graduated with honors. I did my high school at Puerto Rico University, Rio Piedras Campus – my alma mater.

I have a degree in psychology and with a doctorate in psychology. In 1992, I moved to Orlando and got a job at the airport where I met my husband; we’ve been married for twenty-eight years. We have a twenty-seven-year-old daughter who also has a degree in mental health. A Great Life Services, Inc. was born from the need to help those Hispanic and non-Hispanic immigrants I realized needed guidance to start a new life in this country. For example, those families in need of emotional support or having difficulties adapting to a new culture, language, and environment.

In 1999, I obtained my master’s degree in psychology and counseling; then, in 2005, I became a certified behavior analyst, high-school level, after taking the BCBA exam; and finally, in 2011, I obtained a license in mental health counseling LMHC.

For ten years, I worked with autistic and developmentally delayed children and provided support to Hispanic families.

The company started operations from an office in my house; then, we moved to two offices on Semoran Boulevard. After that, we opened four offices on Golden Road. Nowadays, we have nine offices on South Semoran Boulevard. We believe in family integration and respect.
